Ultimate Murphy Bed - The Story

This shows the sequence as generally I use it. It is relatively complete but all the electrics have got to go in as I have things like a smart socket, power meter to monitor that, a stream deck (mainly used for coding, but it also does things like control, the lights, computer lights etc). I will have USB's direct to the mains and the two computers, the Meg and the Nuc. I also need connections for the Zenbook. I will have through wood charging for the phone. And other ideas which I haven't even thought of. I thought of maybe a toggle switch to start the computer and wiring it as a combination as most people know, if you apply current, if it is not turned off in 10 seconds or so, the computer goes off, so I was toying with making this a combination key using say a five-toggle switch panel, just for s**ts and giggles as Austin Powers might say.

I also have a lot more varnishing to do and painting and edging and concealment and covering up. but this is perhaps the main body. I change things more often than the weather changes and literally everything I look at I can criticize more than most people who look at it. It has taken me months to get to this point as a part time hobby and will perhaps take months more. I have a foam mattress on order to try to lessen the weight, but the first-time viewer might say "why use solid beech, nobody uses that". Answer I like it and wanted it and have been trying to design around such a heavy material that no manufacturer (in their right mind) would probably even consider as sensible.

As a child I had Lego and remember making incredible things that were an exaggeration of ordinary items. I imagine that this an adult manifestation of that. I never had Meccano, but the 6mm hex bolt thing of this, reminds me of that, in that a spanner I believe was the only thing you needed, bar imagination.

My main computer is still the Meg Ace in a Thermaltake Distro 350p case, which is using the Aqua computer system which applies negative pressure (In my case 400mbar). I still have tidying to do, but have different ideas on cabling and am gradually lessening cables. To the left of the pump, you can see the top of an inverted chromed cut table leg, that routes all cables to the PSU through the shelf. I have also the DVD down below and some additional wiring. I have the three NVME's on the Mobo itself occupied and a fourth in the 3rd PCI-E slot with its own water cooling (cute, huh?). I use flexible hose as it allows me to swing the case open (around twenty degrees), without leakage. The unit was built first and was designed to match the Murphy bed, i.e., Beech and chromed tube. it is on wheels and will move for access or any other reason. The Murphy Bed Frame itself is just 40cm depth from the wall. The computer is both safe and secure and visible to me as I work or whatever and out of the way when the transformations are taking place.

This is a page I was designing as I had a thought with movie sequences that I could have a themed sub section for any particular movie series. The code (albeit crude) is just the beginning for me to see how it might look. When time permits, I have the idea that I can mimic the background gif, for the images of the movies and sync them, so that they will appear to be part of the background gif. As some of these are 4k, the default player is VLC when you click, or touch them. So the idea is to be basically have what will look like an interactive gif. I have the code to the left so you can see it is quite basic.

The code under Fawlty Towers I think more conforms to the rules of HTML in that Mechanics.txt is a CSS file with web links removed as I wanted to create my site which is self-contained and only uses the internet for my own links, web design etc. Everything is local and I use a browser for overall design of the library as it means everything is always up to date and I have never had to redesign something as it no longer works. All is written as UTF-8 which most browser companies want to be the standard.

The layout of the icons as illustrated in the Harry potter gif, indicates that through different values <div class="col-md-5"></a></div> will space the icon 5th of 12 columns, meaning design can be written into the text instruction for the data, as most "professionals" generally might put this in CSS. As I have multiple files, I can't see the point as I would need a variable command and would be incredibly complicated for me to do.

To the left is one of my albums and this also has Mp4 in it. As these files are low resolution, I just have them open in the browser. I have quite a lot of videos and sometimes when I listen to music, I like to watch the associated video. I have a pair of Edifier speakers which are tri-amped and although only £400 sound quite good and serve my needs. The code as you can see incorporates A-player which I visually customised from the stock version and I overall liked the functionality. Things like WMP and Plex were not what I wanted, so this is my design for my needs. All this media is local, so no internet, no problem.

The Mentalist is regular col-sm-2 and as I have all the seasons & is a lot of icons. The series episode title means col-sm-1 is too small to read and the illustration too small to see. I don't use generally <p></p> anywhere except in my music folder where I have a few albums containing 100 tracks or so. When I have the time all songs will have album art, but present just use <p> & <h?> etc. Movies are generally really good as an image is generally enough and occasionally I will use a promo shot which is everything you need.
